I began reading at Columbus Montessori where I have three teachers in the whole room and one of the teachers was trying to teach us reading and another was trying to teach us shapes. I go to school now, I'm year two, with three teachers again. Miss Hankle (sp?), Miss Obbs (sp?), and Miss Chapelle. >>INTERVIEWER: And you're an honor roll student? >>KENNY: Yes, I'm an honors roll student! How could I forget that? >>INTERVIEWER: How did you learn how to write? >>KENNY: My family. He taught me how to write when I was baby. >>INTERVIEWER: I found out that you like to preach and like to read the bible. >>KENNY: It's true, I have my own church, and it's imaginary. >>INTERVIEWER: What do you do? Do you write your own sermons? >>KENNY: I write music. >>INTERVIEWER: Write music. Do you play instruments? >>KENNY: Yes. >>INTERVIEWER: Who taught you to play. >>KENNY: Mr. Willy at the Baptist Church. What boat is it on? >>CASON: It's on Main Street. >>INTERVIEWER: What instrument do you play? >>KENNY: The piano. >>INTERVIEWER: The piano. Do you know how to read the music? >>KENNY: Well, yes, I know how to read the music. >>INTERVIEWER: Tell me more about your church. Your imaginary church. >>KENNY: I have a busy beat church, a busy staff, the staff comes in every day except when it's a snow. They help prepare sermons. In case you're a minister, and you mess up, they will help you. >>INTERVIEWER: How old are you? >>KENNY: Six years old. >>INTERVIEWER: Do you like to read books? >>KENNY: Yes. >>INTERVIEWER: What is your favorite book? >>KENNY: Junie B. Jones. >>INTERVIEWER: Junie B. Jones. Do you have lots of books at home? >>KENNY: Oh, I have a lot of books. It's like Toys R' Us for books. >>INTERVIEWER: Who likes to read to you at home? >>KENNY: My grandma, my grandpa, sometimes my dad does. >>INTERVIEWER: So, what's your favorite sermon that you always preach in your church. >>KENNY: Don't talk behind god's back. >>INTERVIEWER: What else? >>KENNY: The combined choir. >>INTERVIEWER: What do you want to become when you grow up? >>KENNY: A doctor and a lawyer. >>INTERVIEWER: Okay. So you want to become a doctor and a lawyer so you know you will have to study hard and you'll have to keep up with your reading and your writing. Do you love school? >>KENNY: Yes. >>INTERVIEWER: Can you tell me who are the people who helps you with your homework? >>KENNY: My grandpa picks me up from school and helps me with my homework. So when I go home to my mom and dad I don't have to do homework.
