Time transcripts of Nikitaa [00:00:00:00] [ Interviewer ] Can you state your name for us please? [00:00:02:10] My name is Nikitaa Nath. [00:00:04:05] [ Interviewer ] Alright. And what's your story going to be about today? [00:00:06:12] I'm going to talk about how I watched the movie Pride and Prejudice [00:00:10:22] and how it made me want to go back and read the book after I saw the movie. [00:00:14:20] [ Interviewer ] Alright. Go ahead whenever you're ready. [00:00:16:14] Okay well I was in eighth grade when some of my friends, [00:00:19:27] we wanted to go to the movies and we knew Pride and Prejudice was a popular book [00:00:24:23] and so we were excited to see the movie and we went to see it [00:00:28:08] and I wasn't particularly excited to see it because [00:00:32:00] when I thought about Victorian type of writing [00:00:35:11] I didn't think it was very exciting and I just thought it was too dense [00:00:39:06] and probably boring but the movie ended up being really good [00:00:43:05] and the characters were well developed and the plot was really well developed. [00:00:47:08] I mean, it elicited emotion for me and that's how I know a movie is good [00:00:55:21] so after I saw that I really liked the story and thought that [00:00:59:22] I would like to go back and read the book because [00:01:03:16] I know for me when I watch a movie I can get pretty emotional [00:01:09:06] but if you read a book you get to see so much more [00:01:11:24] of the plot development and the character development [00:01:14:03] so I thought that if I could go back and read it, the story would be even more meaningful. [00:01:21:08] I haven't gotten the chance to read it, but I probably will during [00:01:24:23] one of my summers or something like that because [00:01:27:23] I really like the movie so it inspired me to go back and read the book. [00:01:32:01] [ Interviewer ] What was your favorite part of the movie? [00:01:35:03] Uhmm (laughs) I honestly don't remember it well enough.. [00:01:39:05] [ Interviewer ] Is there anything in particular that you're looking forward to about the book? [00:01:42:25] Like I said, just how the characters play out. I really like the character Mr. Darcy. [00:01:50:15] He's really likeable so I'm excited to see how they portray him in the book. [00:01:56:12] And I'm excited to see how I can relate to the characters. [00:01:59:28] [ Interviewer ] Do you think you might explore other books in that [00:02:04:28] sort of genre or that sort of time era that you weren't originally interested in? [00:02:08:27] Yeah, it's possible because after I saw that movie, I read Jane Eyre [00:02:15:15] which is kind of from the same era and I've heard from so many people [00:02:20:14] that they hated that book and it's a terrible book but I actually [00:02:23:05] really liked it so I think that I would definitely look at other books in that genre. [00:02:28:19] [ Interviewer ] Ok. Did you have any other movies that inspired you to read the book? [00:02:33:12] Probably Fight Club. I just saw that one recently and it was a really good movie. [00:02:40:00] I really like the psychological thriller type movie [00:02:44:07] so I would definitely want to go and read that because, I mean, [00:02:49:04] It's kind of ruined for me because I know the plot of the movie [00:02:52:05] and the twist at the end but it was really well done in the movie [00:02:56:02] and there were a lot of small details that I would only notice if I go back [00:03:00:22] and watch the movie so I think if I read the book there would be [00:03:05:17] so many more details and I think that would be really cool to see [00:03:08:19] how that affects the plot and stuff like that. [00:03:13:29] [ Interviewer ] Is there anything else you want to share? [00:03:15:29] No... [00:03:18:20] [ Interviewer ] Alright. Thanks.
