Early Memories of Reading Stiegel, John (2009-04-22) >>JOHN STIEGEL: I would say my earliest exposure to books and reading started when I was a baby. Actually, I had a great uncle who encouraged my parents to expose me to books early, even before I started reading. My parents always told me his thing was: "Put a book in his hand, put a book in his hand." >> JOHN STIEGEL: So I credit a lot of my love for books to my great uncle. That continued through preschool and elementary school. I remember loving going to book stores, picking up the dictionary, and just browsing. I credit a lot of that to me being a librarian today.
