Time transcripts of #2 Charlene Weyand Library Books and Chewing Gum [00:00:00.06] We would come on Saturday night to shop [00:00:01.88] and we would visit and then, uh, at midnight, [00:00:05.97] or that's when the library closed, at midnight, [00:00:08.82] up a second story, in an old building [00:00:12.19] so we would, you know, eat, and talk, and have fun, [00:00:16.66] and then I'd rush up to the second story library before midnight, [00:00:21.91] uh so I could get my library books, [00:00:24.51] because the librarian stayed until midnight and then she'd go home. [00:00:28.15] That was all very exciting. And I loved the books [00:00:32.50] and the librarian was very nice and helped me to choose the books [00:00:36.43] so then Sunday mornings I would get up early, [00:00:40.71] sometimes as early as 5:30 in the morning to read my library books [00:00:44.86] and I always on the Saturday night, [00:00:48.65] when all the families went to town to shop, [00:00:50.77] I would always use my allowance for some gum [00:00:56.25] and so I would chew my gum and read my stories [00:00:59.95] and if I didn't remember to purchase gum, [00:01:06.75] then I always had a supply on the back of the headboard of the bed [00:01:12.37] where I would put the old gum and pretty yucky to talk about [00:01:16.09] but I chewed and enjoyed it immensely
