I Can Read Program

SHANDREA: Well I heard that I was a smart child growing up and I know that my mom's tried teaching me my ABC's probably when I just turned two and she taught me how to sound out my letters and everything. Then we never had any books around the house so they enrolled me in the program called I Can Read where they'll send like ten books a month and I could get new books every month after I finished the books that had already read. So after, maybe about a couple of years or so, we moved from our address and I had gotten too old to be in the program so we still didn't have many books around the house so I used to walk to my aunt's house every day just so I could get books so I could keep reading. So ever since then I've always been into reading.
