Reading Newspapers Rouillon, Vanessa >>SPEAKER: Alright, would you state your name? >>VANESSA: Vanessa Rouillon. >>SPEAKER: Ok, and what is your story about? >>VANESSA: Well my story is about how I learned to read newspapers. Most kids don't like to read newspapers and they skip parts and they probably like just to look at the pictures and photographs. In my case I just loved to read the comics and since I grew up and had a lot of contact with my grandparents and my grandfather used to read the newspaper from top to bottom in the right order. He would always be correcting me and, "Ok, no you want to get to the comics? Just start from the very beginning." Just because I want to get rid of all the things that were boring to me I just had to read the headlines and the editorials until I finally got to the comics which is what I was interested in doing. Without noticing, in a couple of months I was reading these papers just because I wanted to get to my comics and I think that was a nice thing that he taught me. So I remember that with a lot of love. That's it.
