Misusing English Pronunciations Abdalla, Liban >>SPEAKER: So I thought we'd start off if you'd give your name, you age, your general background. >>LIBAN: My name is Liban Abdalla. I'm from Somalia. I came to the United States in 2004. I've been here, I think, about four years almost. I'm excited about preparing for my English writing and reading. Before I didn't have a competency for my writing but I do have grammatical and I know parts of speech. When I came to the United States I decided to go to high school but they didn't let me because of my age, I was nineteen; I was too old. Then I went on to English as a second language schools and I spent six months at school [Inaudible]. After that I decided to go to college because of that time and I have confidence in that I can write a story or I can write a narrative. I came [Inaudible]. After that I took courses in English, psychology, and things like that. My professor was [Inaudible] that time I was scared about my writing; it was a lot of work for writing skills. Even though I wasn't well-trained for that sort of stuff, typing, [Inaudible]. Unfortunately I dropped the class because I was afraid. After that I went on to Columbus State, they have basic classes like Basic English 1- [Media cuts off]
