Texting Ruining Vocabulary Fabus, Colleen (2009-06-02) >>INTERVIEWER: Can you give us your name, and what your story is about? >>COLLEEN FABUS: Colleen Fabus. My story is about, I guess, the English language. How we all love texting and talking online, but it's kind of ruining how we write and everything. Because I remember this one time I wrote an essay for English. And I wrote it all out and I thought it was perfect, and I got it back and I'm like, "What's wrong with it?" And she's like, "Look at your grammar and everything." I wrote 'know' with no 'w', and 'with' with a slash, and 'you' with just a 'u', and it's, I think, just kind of ruining, it's good, but it's kind of ruining our language. I guess that's all, I don't know. But yeah, we had to talk about this in sociology. >>INTERVIEWER: We did? >>COLLEEN FABUS: Yeah. >>INTERVIEWER: Or you did? >>COLLEEN FABUS: I did. So, I don't know what else to say. [Laughter] >>INTERVIEWER: Ok, thank you.
